  • Year: 1974
  • Model: 246 GTS
  • Description: Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer a 1974 “Ferrari” Dino 246 GTS fitted with the coveted “Flares & Chairs” options and with only 25,429 miles. The car is finished in Rossa Rubino over Nero leather interior. This Dino was finished in the factory in May of 1974 for the US market and still wears its original and rare Rosso Rubino Paint and Pelle Nero interior. There were a total 1,246 Dino 246 GT’s & GTS’s built combined only 69 where painted in this color, it was also tastefully optioned with the desirable “Flairs & Chairs” options giving it wider fender flares, sand cast Campagnolo Wheels & Daytona trimmed leather seats. Delivered to Chinetti Gartherwaite in Paoli, PA (Ferraris east coast distributor at the time) in October of 1974 it was then invoiced the the original selling Dealer Knaus Continental Autos (now Ferrari of Lake Forest) in Lake Forest, ILL (with incredible documentation from Chinetti Garthwaite). Thanks to the “Dino Register”, which has recorded much about the ownership history of this car, we can reconstruct that by June 6th 1975, Marlene Shatkin of Winnetka (IL) was the car’s first lucky owner. Shatkin held onto the Dino for some time, until it briefly went to Dennis Machul of Oak Brook (IL) in 1987. Dr. David Frankel acquired this Dino in the same year, bringing it to Florida. By 1994 Dr. Frankel moved to California with the car, and it has stayed in the Golden State ever since. Between 2000 and 2004, the car was in the hands of a venture capitalist by the name of Eric Kanowsky in Southern California, who then sold it to Alex Alabrian of Glendale. In 2010, No. 08442 entered the collection of the of last owner where is stayed until we purchased it. The car has had a fantastic repaint and although we do not know when it is in increable condion and shows only minor patina. The interior I mostly original with the exception of a new dash the leather, looks, feels and even smells as it should. We have had the car gone through mechanically and it is all in fanatic order, I have personally put over 200 miles on this car since acquiring it and it is as reliable as they come. This Dino is one one of my favorite acquisitions to date and even more stunning in person then in the photos. This vehicle is being offered As-Is with No Warranty. Reimel Motor Cars encourages a pre-purchase inspection be performed on all vehicles offered to showcase their conditions.
